Chi Galatea Huynh, the creator of Galatea, was born and raised in the jewelry industry. His father was a talented and widely respected jeweler. One day Chi’s father revealed the greatest mystery to him, what does it take to be a great jeweler? His father said, “If you want to be a great jeweler it takes skill and repetition. To be a ‘great jeweler’ also requires patience, dedication, courage and a special love for your trade. Having these qualities makes you worthy to work in my shop”.
Today at Galatea, they have more than jewelers, they have what they call an “Olympic” team of jewelers all of whom share this philosophy and love for the trade. They create each piece as if it were to be worn by their own beloved. Chi gets his inspiration from nature.
Galatea is widely known for their Diamond-In-A-Pearl collections and their Galatea Pearl collections. His jewelry creations are all truly works of art. “Galatea” was a statue that came to life, which arrived from Greek Mythology. As an artist, Chi wants his work to come to life.
